Bangalore Winters

It was a Wednesday evening, middle of the week, I fought the deadly Bangalore traffic to reach home at around 7 pm. Just like my car, my head was all heated up. At this point, my weary body has consumed all of the work stress; the usual project deadlines, boss rants and the fact that this is still a Wednesday made it more worse.

I was ready to fall on my knees, just as I rang the calling bell, a glimmering light shined on my dull face. In front of me stood a 5’4 feet angel, with a bright smile, wearing my hoodie, she said “Dumb ass, what took you so long?”

As I came inside, I kept convincing her that it was the traffic, she knew that I had again did extra hours at the office, she then told me how her day went.

“I missed you a bit more today, so I had to keep you close by wearing your hoodie. It smells like you, it’s warm.” she said, face buried deep inside my shirt, holding me.

After listening to those words, I was feeling the butterflies inside my stomach. I consoled her saying how much I love her. I still couldn’t think of anything but her mellow voice, her soft grasp enveloping my tired body, the warmth of her body in this freezing cold night. She was my hot spring.

“You’d be waiting in hell for me, if I somehow didn’t make it to home, wouldn’t you?” I said, as I moistened my lips with hers.

She laughed it off, gave me a few small punches on my back, it felt like a 5 year old’s.

She then sat beside me on the bed, showed me her new concept designs, a few of her cute cafe works for a client, I noticed a small gesture - she was fixing her hair bangs, short hair, it was cute. As I kept staring at her, she suddenly noticed I wasn’t paying attention to her designs.

“Ugh, you aren’t looking at all!” she pouted, and pushed me back to the bed.

“Tickling monster is here to punish you!” she said again, tickling me all over my waist, I rolled on the bed, unable to stop my laughter. I tickled her more fiercely, until she started kicking me and hiding her face in the bedsheet.

We consumed each other and made love the whole night. My stress was gone, and I was ready for the next day’s battle.
